Slap. Slap. Slap. (2)

Continue from the last post about slapping scenes in TVB drama. I was hoping for a male version, but since there's none at the moment, let's enjoy the famous slapping scene from Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles.

Damian slaps Vincent 13 times, and Vincent slaps himself 19 times more. That's 32 in total!! O_o

So currently Vincent is holding both the records of slapping and getting slapped the most!! And all the slaps are on him ~~ poor guy =.=' he must have offended the scriptwriter and director.

Watching No Good Either Way and Tiger Cubs right now, and I unexpectedly spotted Country Spirit is showing on their TVs, in both series. Coincident or not?!

Haha... that was super cute!!

Speaking of soccer, it's another disappointing Euro cup tournament for me this year. Today when I came home from school, I quickly turned on the TV to check the score and I couldn't believe my eyes that Italy was leading with 2 goals against Germany O_o Now that Germany lost, I'm not even excited for the final anymore..... so sad!!

..... it's time to catch up with all my drama now!!

Linda Chung: "I like Lam Fung?!"

In the last episode of House of Harmony and Vengeance 《耀舞長安》, Evergreen's character asked Linda's character if she liked skinny or fat man, and she replied him: "I like Lam Fung" (aka Raymond Lam) XD...

It turned out that she meant to say「玉樹臨風」"yuk shu lam fung" which means tall, slender man.

Evergreen: "Princess, do you like skinny or fat (man)?"

Linda: "I like Lam Fung"

Linda: "Yuk shu lam fung"

(Bobby and Myolie's expressions are so funny!!) :D

This reminded me of the comparison The Gods (Louis Yuen, Wong Cho Lam, Johnson Lee) made during TVB 43rd Anniversary Gala. They said that the young Evergreen looked like the current Raymond Lam and how Raymond will look like the current Evergreen when he's older!! LOL...

LOL........ I know this is like ages ago but I found it super funny. It's always awkward to film a kissing scene. I love how both of them burst out laughing the moment the director says "CUT" :D

"The Four" female version?!

Remember the series The Four that aired back in 2008? Well, I was surfing on baidu the other day and I found this female version of The Four poster made by a fan, starring Charmaine Sheh as Heartless (無情), Tavia Yeung as Iron Fist (鐵手), Kate Tsui as Cold Blood (冷血), and Nancy Wu as Chaser (追命).

After seeing that, I now really want TVB to make this come true. I want a wuxia series for a change. Of course, Charmaine left TVB already so someone else may fill in for the role of Heartless :) If it actually does come true, who do you want to see in each role?

Korean Ginseng?!

If you understand Chinese, you will see that TVB sometimes likes to give weird names to the characters in the drama (probably for comedic purpose). What I meant by 'weird' is that the name when you sound it out, it sounds like something else with a completely different meaning. Take Can't Buy Me Love for example, Linda's character is Ng Si Tak (吳四德) but it sounds like 唔死得 or 'Cannot Die'. There are also examples from Ghetto Justice, in particular:

- Myolie Wu's Wong Si Fu (王思苦) ~~ 黃師傅 or Master Wong (refering to kungfu master Wong Fei Hung)
- Sharon Chan's Ho Lee Ching (何利貞) ~~ 狐狸精 or Fox Spirit = slut
- Joyce Tang's Tai Ng Ting (第五婷) ~~ 第五庭 or The Fifth Court

So... what do all these have to do with Korean Ginseng? From last year drama (2010), I just realize that there were two characters in two different dramas having similar names:

My Better Half <老公萬歲> - Maggie Cheung as Ko Lai Sum (高勵心)

When Lanes Merge <情越雙白線> - Kate Tsui as Ko Lai Sum (高麗芯)

This is of course no big deal but their name is Ko Lai Sum, which sounds like 高麗参 or Korean Ginseng!! :D Yea, I just want to point that out because the first time I heard it, I giggled for some reasons but I didn't know why. Now I know. And coincidently, I found two of them too, that's a bit odd.
