Slap. Slap. Slap. (2)

Continue from the last post about slapping scenes in TVB drama. I was hoping for a male version, but since there's none at the moment, let's enjoy the famous slapping scene from Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles.

Damian slaps Vincent 13 times, and Vincent slaps himself 19 times more. That's 32 in total!! O_o

So currently Vincent is holding both the records of slapping and getting slapped the most!! And all the slaps are on him ~~ poor guy =.=' he must have offended the scriptwriter and director.

Slap. Slap. Slap.

A compilation of slapping scenes in TVB drama. Enjoy ~~

- Total slaps counted: 138

- Person who slaps the most: Kingdom Yuen (11 slaps)

- Person who gets slapped the most: Myolie Wu (12 slaps) ~~ poor girl =.=

- Most continuous slaps: Kingdom Yuen in The Beauty of the Game (10 slaps). Poor Christine Ng ~~

- Drama with the most slaps counted:
1. The Beauty of the Game (12 slaps)
2. Moonlight Resonance (11 slaps)
3. Curse of the Royal Harem (10 slaps)
4. House of Harmony and Vengeance (9 slaps)

I guess it's tough being a TVB actress eh?!

Hopefully someone will do a male version soon. Damian Lau and Vincent Wong will definitely be in it.

TVB 2013 Sales Presentation

Sniper Attack 2013 《神槍狙擊2013》

Looks a bit too exaggerated with the flying bullets and stuff. I'm also tired of hearing the phrase "The best of the best", but I would love to watch a series with the SDU again.

The Love Firm 《傳愛事務所》

Ehh? I thought this series was supposed to be serious. Wayne was just great, the way he talked was hilarious. Some girls were doing the horse dance on the boat lol...

A Great Way to Care II 《仁心解碼2》

Looks good. A Great Way to Care was good, so hopefully the second one will be good too. I'm happy to see Yoyo Mung again, but I will miss Kate's Monkey. Tavia's role looks interesting too.

Inbound Troubles 《老表，你好嘢》

Looks funny enough. I want to see how Wong Cho Lam does as scriptwriter. Hopefully I won't be disappointed. I love their accents here!!

Cold Mountain, Hidden Dragon 《寒山潛龍》

O_o What the heck did I just watch?! From costume to hair to acting... blehhh!! They have two major problems here that MUST be fixed if they are to make this series: 1) Raymond's hair and costume and 2) CHANGE ALL THOSE ACTRESSES!! I mean it!!

A Change of Heart 《好心作怪》

Hmm... This looks good!! I find it random though how Niki just rushed into the operation room with a gun like that. Bosco looks badass!!

Unrequited Love in Two Cities 《單戀雙城》

Looks more like a Taiwanese drama to me. The only one I know and recognize in there is Aimee Chan, and since my reaction to Aimee is just 'mehh', I guess I'll pass.

Food for the Slaves 《食為奴》

I love how this clip focuses on Ron instead of Raymond. I'm totally against Raymond in Qing Emperor costume so hopefully they will change the cast (then Ray will have no series next year eh?!)

The Hippocratic Crush II 《On Call 36小時II》

Hopefully the sequel can live up to the first one. And just who will this mysterious female lead be??

Big Wheel 《巨輪》

I'm actually looking forward to this the most. I love stories about brotherhood like this. Reminds me of those old series, like At the Threshold of an Era. Plus, Kristal is really pretty here.

Love Reverses Three Lifetimes of Fate 《情逆三世緣》

A bit disappointed in this clip. It looks too... trivial. Anyways, I'm still looking forward to this series. Bobby and Esther FTW!!

Rosy Business III 《巾幗梟雄之諜血長天》

I'm totally against the idea of using the same title Rosy Business for this one. Change it to something else seriously!! BUT I'm not against the production of this series, including the cast. I'm just an audience, if it's a good series, of course I want it to be filmed, with the cast as the producer sees fit. On a side note, Myolie's daomadan look is just plain scary!!

Raymond Wong @ Toronto

First of all, Happy Canada Day!!

This year Raymond Wong was invited to Toronto as a guest performer for A1 Chinese Radio. The event took place at The Exhibition Place (CNE). This is the first time I can see a TVB actor up close, very excited!! Ray Wong seemed really friendly!! Too bad I can't get any closer to shake his hand :(

He sang 4 songs in total, but I only managed to record 2. The audio quality was really poor so please bear with it :P I think Ray Wong's not bad singing live!!

**The lady in short blue jeans next to Raymond is Louise Lee's daughter, Leslie Yip**

Haha... that was super cute!!

Speaking of soccer, it's another disappointing Euro cup tournament for me this year. Today when I came home from school, I quickly turned on the TV to check the score and I couldn't believe my eyes that Italy was leading with 2 goals against Germany O_o Now that Germany lost, I'm not even excited for the final anymore..... so sad!!

..... it's time to catch up with all my drama now!!

The Making of the 1983 "Legend of the Condor Heroes"

Credit to CyberWarriors69 from YouTube

I actually never watched this series before but I really like how TVB put all the behind-the-scenes clips together into a documentary like this. It made me realize how old this series is?! Just look at the TVB staffs, their hairstyles and clothings, and the computers they used... O_o I really like this clip, I think it's always fun to pick out the younger versions of some familiar actors and actresses. Felix Wong is just too charming... I love the part where he sang on the boat to warm himself up (around 28:14) :)

Charmaine & Roger's Mainland Series "Justice, My Foot"《审死官》

Credit to 制片肥金晖 from Tudou

Apparently, the Mainland series "Legend of Yuan Empire Founder" is still in post-production and will not be done until September. It's ok... I can wait :(

Meanwhile, I found a trailer for "Justice, My Foot", another Mainland series starring Roger Kwok, Charmaine Sheh, Xue Jia Ning, Kingdom Yuen, Dominic Lam... It's kinda funny how the majority of the leads are from Hong Kong :P And so... they're all dubbed :(

Charmaine and Raymond Filming "The Drive of Life"

Credit to boscoyina from YouTube

Director: "Ready to roll. 3-2-1-ACTION"

*Charmaine kissing Raymond all over*

Director: "CUT"

*Charmaine and Raymond burst out laughing*

Charmaine: "HAHA... Did you hear people down there yelling 'WOW it's Charmaine'? Wahhh, that was so awkward!"

Raymond: "Her face turns all red!"

Charmaine: "They don't know what we are doing."

Raymond: "And they can't see the camera."

LOL........ I know this is like ages ago but I found it super funny. It's always awkward to film a kissing scene. I love how both of them burst out laughing the moment the director says "CUT" :D

"Sergeant Tabloid" Fanmade MV

Credit to 蘇珊Susan from Tudou

I'm in love with the pairing Niki-Michael after Sergeant Tabloid. This video is pretty cute too. I especially love the dancing scene at the bar, starting at around 1:00.

The song is called 《普天同愛》and is sung by Bosco Wong.

Tang Chi Wai Flash Back Concert 《鄧智偉平行回憶演唱會》

Tang Chi Wai is a music producer of TVB. His works include some of TVB memorable theme songs, for example Heart of Greed theme 《講不出聲》 sung by Susanna Kwan, The Drive of Life subtheme 《愛在記憶中找你》 sung by Raymond Lam, and recently the theme of The Hippocratic Crush 《連續劇》 sung by Joey Yung. On May 4th and 5th, 2012, Tang Chi Wai held a concert at Star Hall, inviting numerous singers to perform some of his classic songs. I've actually noticed his name for quite a long time already when it appeared at the ending credits of a drama episode because his songs usually sound good.

Aww... Tang Chi Wai was crying at the beginning. His singing is actually pretty ok too. He usually works at backstage, now he has a chance to perform part of his own song onstage.

Raymond Lam singing 《愛不疚》

Wow... Raymond is really sweaty in this clip. It must be really hot in there. I don't know why now every time I listen to this song, I think of Linda singing in Daddy Good Deeds... haha

Linda Chung singing 《傷城記》 and 《發誓》

Credit to SuperLindachung @ Youtube

I never like the theme song of L'Escargot. The pitch is too low and the song is too slow, not my type of music. Linda is not bad performing live. I like the second song she sang. Where is Ron anyways?

Ron Ng singing 《別怪她》

Never mind, Ron is here. He looks good!! I like the song he sang, though I feel like he kinda messed up on the tune =.=

Niki Chow singing 《朝花夕拾》

Credit to NikiChowFC @ Youtube

Niki is not bad singing live too. She sounded almost like the original one. However, I don't think her voice was powerful enough.

Alfred Hui singing 《連續劇》

Credit to rainalpw @ Youtube

Too bad Joey can't sing it this time. Alfred's voice isn't suitable for this song, though I think he sang pretty ok too.

Bosco Wong singing 《幸而》 and 《只得一次》

Leo Ku and Wayne Lai singing 《義海豪情》

Credit to starshk @ Youtube

WOW!! Bosco's singing..... and his pose..... and his look too..... o_O I'm speechless!! He scared me!! LOL... This is actually my favourite clip of all. Bosco seemed really into it, and he's singing Myolie's song too <3 When he picked up the megaphone, I laughed so hard for some reason. Wow... Bosco!! Producer Chik might have considered adding him to the cast of Master of Play too cuz his look right now fit the series perfectly haha...

Leo sounds great as usual. His voice is amazing. This is also the first time I feel that Wayne's singing is powerful because he usually sounds really soft when he sings. May 4th is actually Wayne's birthday so Leo sang a birthday song 'No Regrets version' for him on the spot haha...

[Movie] You Are the Apple of My Eye 《那些年，我們一起追的女孩》

This is non-TVB related but I want to share this with you guys. I don't follow movies so I didn't know about this when it came out last year. I first came across its theme song, I love it so I did a quick search on it and learned that this movie is quite popular. I finally got a chance to watch it last month and I want to post something about it before I forget.

This movie is a semi-autobiography by the Taiwanese author Giddens Ko. It's technically a romantic story between the two leads told from the guy's perspective. The story began in 1994 and ended in the present time. It follows their journey from high school to university to adulthood. The love depicted here is nothing gross. It's rather simple, pure and genuine. The whole movie has none of the so-called "dramatic" factors or any must-watch scenes but it will sneakily evoke your emotions. For those who have experienced or gone through the Asian educational system, this movie really did bring back a lot of memories. The strict school uniform/hairdo rules, the announcing-your-grades-to-the-whole-class custom, the out-of-nowhere punishment, the cruel never-ending "final" examinations that will determine your future, etc, etc..., everything was shown here.

The story line is rather simple. A group of high school students had a crush on their classmate and each of them would try to impress her in their own ways. After graduation, each person went on a different path in life but everyone still maintained his genuine love for her. And finally, they all met again in a wedding party. The ending was bittersweet. It showed the cruelty of fate and time, the innocence and ignorance of youth. However, everything doesn't matter anymore in the end because they all learned that loving one person is to see that person happy, no matter what the outcome is. And more importantly, the friendship they shared was able to survive and stand strong till the end.

I would give this movie an 8/10 and I do think that everyone should watch it. The theme song Those Years《那些年》 sung by Hu Xia fits this movie perfectly and is really nice. It is one of my favorite songs now.

Status Update

So I'm done with The Hippocratic Crush, now what? I'm still watching Bottled Passion and Let It Be Love. Both are only 20 episodes long but surprisingly took me so long to finish O_o. Anyways, I decided to stop Queens of Diamonds and Hearts 3 weeks ago. I watched the 1st episode of Daddy Good Deeds, skipped 5 episodes, then watched the 6th one (don't ask me why :P) and that's about it. DGD...hm... I don't know. It's funny.... but I think I want something more serious at the moment. And plus, I'm so annoyed with everyone in there except for Nancy Wu, Edwin Siu and Steven Ma. And too bad that this is Steven's last series with TVB :(

I think I will have to take a short break from TVB now, and wait until The Greatness of a Hero and Gloves Come Off to air. I watched TGOAH already but I really want to watch GCO. I hope it won't disappoint!! In the mean time, I'll try to finish up BP and LIBL, then start watching some mainland series to brush up my Mando and get myself ready for the mega mainland production which will air this summer............. and that is Legend of Yuan Empire Founder. Ok the reason I want to watch this is because Charmaine and Steven are in it, and plus the trailer looks awesome. The battle scenes are so breath-taking. However, the downside is that both Charmaine and Steven are dubbed, which sucks because I really want to hear their own voices. And they seriously need to replace whoever is dubbing Charmaine in the trailer because she sounds horrible. She doesn't sound authoritative at all but like a little kid trying to act tough!! Anyways, I was almost cheering when Charmaine and Steven appeared and yah, I totally need to watch that :P

There is actually another series that caught my attention and that is Strangers 6. This series is a collaboration between China, Japan and Korea, and Bowie is in it. I got a chance to watch a few minutes of the first episode and I think it was great already. But more importantly, no one is dubbed. NO ONE. Everyone is speaking using their own voice, in their own language. You'll have to read the sub if you don't understand. So far, I only found Japanese sub and Chinese sub for it, no Eng sub yet. I'm fine with Chinese sub but I prefer English so I think I might wait, unless someone found it and tell me where I can watch it. Thank you in advance :D
